There were lots of wonderful things that I got from the session. Each small, but significant though.

“If something’s worth doing it’s worth doing badly”. This was a truly great message as I often never get to the end of projects because I want them to be perfect – or even better than perfect!

Your answer to a personal question in the break saying do version 1 and then 2 was spot on an instant perception as this is something that I’ve been thinking about but hadn’t got the confidence to do – as such you’ve saved me several weeks work AND I know that I’ll now finish the project!

The biggest thing for me was the general motivation around doing things and not caring about what others think or say. Also finding mentors, groups, like minded people for support and the point of doing it and interacting with the world rather than thoughts in your head – these were all important points for me.

So what would I change. Possibly a list handed out (not necessarily with contact details for privacy reasons) that has some of the skills or ideas that people have. I found that the event unexpectedly had a large networking component which maybe could have been even better utilised (though you did some great improptu connections in the sessions).

I’d also love to have a list of the questions that you asked for authentic goals – perhaps you could post a 1 page pdf of them, as they really do hit the spot.

Oh, and one final thing that you say about setting up false barriers. I now have a much more compelling goal in my job as to how high a standard I want and this is already realising itself; in my future business venture I am saying the aspiration that I genuinely want (which is very large) and working harder to achieve it – but would feel perfectly happy if it didn’t happen. Your metaphor of the rope and tension really showed me how lowering what I’m aiming for makes the enthusiasm drop significantly.

I have been on this path for a long time, with the answers to everything on the tip of my tongue and just over that wall.
